What is a business card?
Yeah, let’s start with the basics.
What we can all agree on is that a business card is a piece of paper you give to people. After that, the purpose of a business card is up to you.
After years of business card experience, I have found that most people care about three things:
1 – First impression:
This card is the image of the company. If the company is proud to be eco-friendly, the paper must not only look eco-friendly but it must also be eco-friendly. If the company is about luxury and abundance, a thick material is a must… and so on.
2 – How likely will the person keep and use the card:
Often, having a little story about the card makes a huge impact on the receiver and this will make it more likely that the company/person will be remembered. For example, it can be something simple, like a ruler on the edge of the card. This may seem banal but if you are a tailor or a carpenter, it makes complete sense!
3 – How practical is it:
Very thick paper is exciting and feels important. But when there is a lot of people to meet, if you are not loading your pockets with cards, you will run out of cards quickly.
